Annual Fund 2011

The Vada Sheid Community Development Center (the Center) is one of the most important regional economic development undertakings in decades. The Center will inject new dollars into our community and will serve year-round as the convention, cultural and educational hub for the Twin Lakes area. The ASUMH staff will work with business partners to promote the area as an attractive destination for meeting and convention planners, trade shows and tour operators.  The completion of the Vada Sheid Community Development Center is essential to the growth and economic prosperity of our region.  Now is the time for Twin Lakes business owners to make an investment to help ensure the economic future of this area for many years to come.

When completed, the Center will be a major economic engine to bring new jobs and new financial strength to North Central Arkansas.  The leadership of ASUMH is diligently working to leverage the Twin Lakes position as one of the most popular tourist destinations in the nation by providing a venue to host multi-state conventions, trades shows and cultural events.  Dollars brought into the community for these events will have a direct and indirect  multiplier effect on the local economy.  The Trout Nature Center, scheduled to open in 2012, will be a key addition.  It will be a unique center that will draw tourists, educators, researchers and fishermen to our area.

Since 1995, ASUMH has offered opportunities for thousands of students to obtain an education that has had a powerful ripple effect throughout our region.  This effect is ASUMH’s contribution to the economic vitality and quality of life in the Twin Lakes area.  The ripple begins with a degree, diploma or certificate and the promise of higher earnings for ASUMH graduates.  Higher wages lead to increased tax revenues and less dependence on social services ensuring a stronger economy and a healthier community.  As the ripple becomes a wave, the lives of thousands of students and their families are forever changed by the power of education.  Every facet of the Twin Lakes economy benefits from the impact of ASUMH.

Our mission is to be a leader in the region’s economic growth by educating the workforce, attracting and servicing visitors, generating income, jobs and tax revenues which will make the community a better place to work, play, live and visit.  During the 2011 Annual Fund drive, 10% of all funds raised will be dedicated to the general scholarship fund.  For information on how you can be a part of the Annual Fund 2011 drive to complete the Vada Sheid Community Development Center, contact the ASUMH Office of Development at (870) 508-6105.

Chair Naming

A plaque will be mounted on each chair in either the Veterans' Section or General Seating with a message of your choice. Please contact the ASUMH Development Office to have a notice sent about your gift this holiday. Give online at www.supportasumh.com or call (870) 508-6105 for more information.

Paving the Way

You can help Pave the Way to completing the Vada Sheid Community Development Center by purchasing a brick paver at the entrance of the building. This is a unique opportunity to have your name, names of family members or ancestors, or a corporate name become a part of history. Bricks can be purchased for $100. The donation of a commemorative brick paver will help support the Annual Fund campaign to purchase theatrical lighting for the Dykstra Stage in the auditorium. Brick personalization may include four lines of text with 16 characters
each (no punctuation). Click here for the brick paver form.
